For as long as Jessica can remember, she wanted to be an actor. She started singing and dancing at the age of 4, and continued her studies all the way through college, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Texas State. The “Fine” in between “Bachelor” & “Arts” is just a fancy way of saying she took even more acting classes because she was that serious about being an actor.
Regarding her stage work, Jessica has performed all over the place in different festivals, showcases, and cities, including the world premiere of the combined traditional/modernized telling of The Monkey King, choreographed and directed by Chen Ye and Trey McIntyre. The first half of the show was in the traditional style of Journey to the West and Jessica played White Bone Demon Lady, and the second half was a modernized telling of the Beijing opera, where Jessica, herself, actually played The Monkey King.
After working and performing for years, and after a series of interesting weirdness, Jessica finally was led to her first audition for the anime dubbing company A.D. Vision (now Sentai Filmworks). A pioneer in the industry, Jessica trailblazed herself into some of the very first English produced dubs in iconic roles such as Excel Excel in Excel Saga (V1-V3), Mink from Dragonhalf, Fam in Ruin Explorers, Dirty Pair (Yuri) and so much more. As the industry grew, so did Jessica’s voice dubbing repertoire including more recent titles such as Saori in Girls und Panzer, Shenmei in The Apothecary Diaries, Anko in Call Of the Night, and Hange in Attack on Titan.
Some fun facts:
Jessica co-starred in Battleseed, a LeSean Thomas (Cannon Busters, Yasuke, Black Dynamite, The Boondocks) original. Battleseed was one of the earliest flash-animated webseries for UBO and it was also made into a promotional trailer for the Sci-Fi Channel (now SyFy) .
Jessica voiced a floating, metallic teddy bear named Dr. Yoshimoto in Aureolio Voltaire's flash-animated series for scifi.com (now syfy) Chi Chian starring Bai Ling.
The creator of the Cutey Honey franchise, Go Nagai, originally wanted Winona Ryder to voice the incredible heroine Cutey Honey, but when he was told that a different casting choice would need to be made as the recording studio for the project wasn’t SAG, the studio allowed Mr. Nagai to choose the English voice. He selected Jessica for the voice of Honey and her life was forever changed.
